Whimsical Mid-Century

This whimsical mid-century modern residence was originally designed in 1947 by the visionary architect Thorton Ladd—renowned for his work with Ladd & Kelsey on the Norton Simon Museum in Pasadena. The 1960 expansion, designed by Arthur C. Swab, AIA, further enriched the home’s design, blending modernist sensibilities with a timeless aesthetic. In 2025, Wendy Wilson & Associates had the honor of designing the renovation of this local gem. Our work exemplifies a commitment to preserving the home’s iconic character while thoughtfully integrating contemporary elements, perpetuating its enduring Southern California allure.
