This mid-century ranch-style home located in the Hasting Ranch neighborhood in Pasadena, CA underwent a complete interior remodel and renovation.  Wendy Wilson & Associates provided all design, construction drawing, permitting, interior design, and construction observation services for this turn-key project.

This historic Craftsman home in South Pasadena underwent a major remodel and the addition of a second story.  Great care was taken to maintain and honor the original 1914 architecture while bringing the home and its amenities into the 21st century.

Contemporary Renovation

Wendy Wilson & Associates transformed this traditional Altadena home into a contemporary jewel for its new owners.  A stately and dramatic door, in a rich ink blue hue, opens to an elegant basalt stone entry.  The family room, master bedroom, and all the bathrooms were completely renovated with many custom details including incorporating an antique carved wood mantel as a character piece for the new quartzite fireplace surround and beautiful walnut display cabinetry.

This 1939 era home was completely renovated and the floor plan reconfigured-- including the guest suite and laundry room wing.  The kitchen and bathrooms were transformed with a new layout, and beautiful materials, finishes, and amenities.  On the exterior, we selected an updated color palette to enhance the home's curb appeal and to coordinate with its new native landscape design.

Modern view home

The exterior of this hillside home was completely renovated utilizing contemporary materials and details well suited to our Southern California climate.  The entry was designed to provide a secure and private garden atrium.  The floating roof allows plenty of natural light into the space as well as providing protection from the elements.  The home opens to a rear patio with 180 degree views of the valley below.  The back patio structure incorporates automated louvers which the homeowner can adjust to allow in natural light as desired.

This true mid-century modern gem was designed by Alfred Day, with the original landscape design by Garrett Eckbo.  We've been bringing it back to its true beauty a bit at a time, starting with new edge-grain bamboo floors throughout, period lighting, and a rich and playful color palette, inside and out.
